SC dismisses Mamata-led TMC faction’s plea to operate four debit-frozen bank accounts
The Supreme Court refused to allow the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress faction to access frozen bank accounts. These accounts hold approximately Rs 804 crore and were previously frozen by the West Bengal Police. The court noted that a larger question of entitlement to the funds remains unresolved. Earlier, the Calcutta High Court had also declined to grant access, citing a potential undermining of its own orders.
