Congress party has strongly criticised the Modi government, alleging that rising prices are putting pressure on ordinary citizens while accusing the government of using statistical manipulation to conceal the impact of inflation. Recent increases in the prices of raw materials such as copper, aluminium and electrical components have also contributed to higher home construction costs. The party further criticised the government's claims about GDP growth, calling them misleading.
