SC hears Abhishek Banerjee’s plea seeking expedited decision on disqualification of 20 Rebel TMC MPs

The Supreme Court heard a plea from TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee regarding rebel MPs. He sought expedition of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's decision on disqualification. The apex court declined to issue notice to the Speaker and secretary-general. A similar plea by Shiv Sena (UBT) was previously halted by the court. Banerjee challenged the delay in deciding disqualification proceedings against twenty MPs.
