India sets eyes on 100 more flagged vessels to cut forex outgo

India plans to add one hundred flagged vessels within five years. This initiative aims to significantly reduce the nation's foreign freight bill. Currently, India pays approximately seventy-five billion dollars annually for freight services. Industry representatives noted that operating under an Indian flag is costlier. A five-pillar roadmap has been proposed to address these challenges.
