Trump threatens 50% tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks and steel from January 2027
United States President Donald Trump announced future tariff increases on Canadian goods. Tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks, and auto parts will rise to 50 percent. Steel imports from Canada will also face the same fifty percent tariff rate. These new tariffs are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027. Products manufactured within the United States will continue to face zero tariffs.
