Onion prices rise nearly 50%: Govt to run Kanda Express from today

Onion Price Today: Onion prices have risen sharply across India, with the average retail price reaching Rs 42 per kg. To increase supplies and control prices, the Centre will start operating Kanda Express trains from Nashik to Delhi, Chennai, Kochi and Guwahati from Monday. The government will release buffer stock in a calibrated manner. Sugar prices have also continued to rise, with loose sugar selling at Rs 62.5 per kg.
