SC allows MP Abhishek Banerjee to travel abroad for eye care

The Supreme Court granted Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee permission to travel abroad. He will receive eye treatment overseas for a period of three weeks. This decision came after the Calcutta High Court had previously refused his travel request. The Centre had opposed his plea, citing multiple cases and flight risk concerns. Banerjee's counsel countered that cases were filed after a political shift in the state.
