Using your phone in the dark? Study reveals what a too-bright screen could do to your eyes
A study published in Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, looked at the various effects of room light and smartphone screen brightness on tear film stability, blinking, and visual fatigue. In 30 young adults, reading in a dark room with a bright screen caused the biggest changes in eye-surface measurements. The study assessed short-term responses; long-term effects remain unknown.
