Hardeep Singh Puri nominated for Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh, ending uncertainty over his seat

Hardeep Singh Puri has been nominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party for the Rajya Sabha polls. He previously served as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh starting in 2018. His term was initially set to end in 2026, and he has a background as a diplomat. Puri contested the Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar in 2019 but lost to Congress candidate Gurjeet Singh Aujla.
