Three-way weather interplay prolonged Arnab’s landfall: IMD DG

An anticyclone over the China-Myanmar region, strong westerly winds and a low-pressure system over the south Bay of Bengal combined to prolong Cyclone Arnab’s landfall process for nearly six hours, IMD director general Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said.
