Anthropic IPO: Firm uses ‘catastrophic’ word 10 times in document to highlight ‘humanitarian’ AI risks

Anthropic’s IPO filing highlights an unusual risk for investors, warning that its AI technology could pose “catastrophic or existential risks to humanity” if developed or deployed without adequate safeguards. According to Axios, more than 90 pages of the prospectus are devoted to risk factors, including concerns about AI misuse, weaponisation and autonomous systems.
