A 67-year-old entrepreneur from Colombia has described how she turned her passion for neighbourhood gossip into a source of income, claiming that the business helped her purchase two houses. Miryam, who calls herself a professional “chismosa”, said she records information she overhears, keeps evidence of her stories and charges between 5,000 and 10,000 Colombian pesos for less sensational details. She also recalled charging 700,000 pesos for one secret.
