Caste census: DMK chief Stalin urges Centre to avoid discrepancies, demands Tamil Nadu Assembly resolution

DMK president M K Stalin criticised the Centre’s proposed open-ended system for recording caste details in Census 2027, warning it could lead to major discrepancies. He urged the Tamil Nadu government to pass a special Assembly resolution pressing the Centre to use a standardised caste list/drop-down system based on state BC and MBC lists.
