AI can augment reasoning but cannot substitute judicial conscience: CJI Surya Kant

Chief Justice Surya Kant stated artificial intelligence can aid judicial reasoning but not replace conscience. A permanent apex body is proposed to oversee AI adoption and accountability in courts. India and Germany will exchange experiences on cross-border commercial mediation and dispute resolution. Both judiciaries are committed to a secure digital foundation for justice delivery. Institutional cooperation will be deepened through a Memorandum of Understanding.
