Census 2027 to drop separate ‘beggars and vagrants’ category

Scheduled for 2027, India's Census will implement transformative updates to its data collection methods. The existing category for 'beggars and vagrants' will be removed, integrating these individuals into an 'others' classification. Moreover, natural calamities will join the list of migration factors. The census will aim to collect more parental information to explore demographic trends and interfaith marriages.
