MIAL to start demolishing part of Mumbai airport's T1 from January 15 next year

Beginning January 2027, Mumbai airport will commence the demolition of a section of Terminal 1. This will result in a redistribution of air traffic towards Terminal 2 and the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Akasa Air has already transitioned its domestic operations to Terminal 2, with plans for international traffic to also shift to Navi Mumbai. A transition team is being formed to ensure seamless coordination.
