Fewer than 20 ships cross Strait of Hormuz over weekend as US-Iran blockades choke key oil route
Fewer than twenty commodity vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend. Initial data showed four vessels crossed on Sunday and thirteen on Saturday. Overall traffic volumes remained suppressed in the week to August 21. Vessels aborted transit plans or switched routes after attacks occurred. Traffic remains well below normal levels and declining since the June peak.
