Ashis Banerjee, former Bengal Dy Speaker, found hanging at TMC office

Former West Bengal Assembly deputy speaker Ashis Banerjee was found hanging at a party office. A purported suicide note was recovered from the office near his residence. Police have sent his body for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause. Banerjee represented Rampurhat in the state Assembly for many years. Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
