At least one student among 5 people shot at Virginia State University

Five individuals sustained gunshot wounds during an early Saturday shooting incident at Virginia State University. Campus police and county officers discovered the victims outside university dormitories near the Quad Annexes. One of the wounded was a student who later received hospital release after non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities lifted a campus lockdown after determining there was no immediate threat to the community.
