West Bengal withdraws Banga Bibhushan from BJP MP Ananta Maharaj

The West Bengal government annulled the Banga Bibhushan award given to Ananta Maharaj. This action followed remarks he made about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had directed police to take stringent action against such comments. The award was previously conferred by Mamata Banerjee in February 2026.
