Odisha under red alert, IMD warns of heavy rain in Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh

Heavy rainfall swept across Odisha due to a prominent low-pressure area hovering over the Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department has flagged a red warning for severe rain events. Areas such as Balasore and Mayurbhanj have experienced substantial rainfalls, with Balasore town facing waterlogging and elevated river levels. In light of these conditions, schools in the Mayurbhanj district have been shut down for safety.
