SC allows TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee to travel abroad for three weeks for eye treatment

The Supreme Court permitted Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee to travel abroad. He will seek essential eye treatment for three weeks overseas. This order overturned a previous Calcutta High Court denial of permission. The High Court had cited his unwillingness to attend a medical assessment. Banerjee had appealed to the Supreme Court after the High Court's decision.
