Trump announces staff secretary Will Scharf will be his new White House counsel

President Donald Trump has named Will Scharf as the next White House counsel, replacing David Warrington from September 1. Scharf, a former federal prosecutor and Trump lawyer, helped secure approval for the administration’s controversial $400 million White House ballroom project and will take charge of legal matters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
