Indian banks' asset quality outlook remains stable, West Asia impact limited: Report

Banks in India foresee a stable outlook for asset quality, driven by the reduction of unsecured lending which should prevent new stresses from emerging. The current crisis in West Asia is unlikely to significantly affect operations. Furthermore, with a strong government backing, microfinance loans provide more security, and although MSME loans continue to grow, they are still within safe limits for banks.
