Sri Lanka Navy launches rescue operation for Indian vessel carrying 11 crew members

An Indian fishing trawler with eleven crew members ran aground in Sri Lankan waters. The Sri Lanka Navy rescued the fishermen after the vessel sustained partial structural damage. This incident occurred near Delft Island, also known as Neduntheevu, in the Palk Strait. The Indian vessel allegedly engaged in illegal bottom trawling activities before the accident.
