PDP's Waheed Para urges PM Modi, Amit Shah to show 'same compassion' to Kashmir youth

People's Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Waheed Para has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to extend the same compassion to Kashmir's youth that, he said, was shown to student protesters elsewhere in the country. Citing the reported detention, questioning and summoning of over 2,500 people in Kashmir following the killing of a policeman in Anantnag, Para alleged the Centre was adopting "double standards" and warned that treating Kashmir differently from the rest of India risked deepening alienation.
