Walloping students in middle of street is shocking: Shashi Tharoor slams government

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor strongly criticised the Centre's actions. He called the lathi-charge on students shocking and very badly handled. Tharoor visited injured students and heard their painful testimonies. He stated that the government's response was insensitive and unacceptable. The leader also condemned the detention of opposition leaders during their protest.
