Subsidy deadline may be extended for electric-two-wheelers; PM E-Drive scheme needs more funds

The Ministry of Heavy Industries is considering extending subsidies for domestically manufactured electric two-wheelers beyond the current July 31 deadline, although this would require additional budgetary support as the ₹10,900-cr PM E-Drive scheme has already committed all its allocated funds. The subsidy is expected to remain at around ₹5,000 per vehicle.
