House panel seeks periodic review of competition law framework, cites repeated violations of rules

A parliamentary panel recommended reviewing competition law for the digital sector. It called for vigorous enforcement of monetary penalty guidelines by the CCI. The panel also stressed a transparent methodology for calculating penalty amounts. Adequate protection for small businesses from monopolies was also suggested. Enhanced cooperation between the CCI and other regulators was emphasized.
