Domestic-coated sugar export ban

Due to a shortfall in sugar production linked to adverse weather conditions, India has placed a temporary ban on sugar exports through September. This precautionary step is intended to secure enough sugar for local consumption. Although there has been some recovery in sugar production compared to last year, it remains below expectations.
