Scientists studying naked mole rats discovered a gene linked to high levels of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HMW-HA), a substance associated with cancer resistance, reduced inflammation, and healthy aging. Researchers at the University of Rochester transferred the gene into mice and found that the animals lived healthier lives with a modest lifespan increase.
