India’s jobless rate rises to 5% in Q4

India's unemployment rate climbed to 5% in the January-March quarter. This rise was primarily due to an increase in joblessness among women. Overall urban unemployment saw a slight decrease, while rural unemployment edged up. Youth unemployment also experienced an upward trend during this period. Labour force participation and the worker population ratio saw minor dips.
