Sri Lanka raises electricity tariffs for third time this year

Sri Lanka has increased electricity tariffs again. Consumers using more than 180 units monthly will see an 18 percent hike. This is the third increase this year. The Public Utilities Commission states 95 percent of consumers will not be affected. The regulator also directed the National Systems Operator to exclude coal costs from tariff revisions.
