Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India, who is often referred to as the architect of the country’s economic reforms, passed away at the age of 92.
According to Indian media reports citing officials, Mr. Singh, who had been ill and was hospitalized at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, died late in the evening on Thursday, December 26.
Singh served as India’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014 and was the driving force behind India’s economic liberalization in the 1990s.
