NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The New York Yankees have officially named a new play-by-play voice.
Veteran broadcaster Dave Sims will replace John Sterling, who says he’s officially retired for good after a brief return to call playoff games.

Sims has called Seattle Mariners games for the past 17 seasons but the Yankees gig on WFAN is a bit of a homecoming for the Philadelphia native. He served as a midday host on WFAN with Ed Coleman from 1989 to 1993.
