Lindsey Vonn announced on Thursday that she is coming out of retirement six years after her last Olympics with plans to rejoin the U.S. Olympic ski team at age 40.
Vonn has won three Olympic medals, including a downhill gold and a super-G bronze at the 2010 Vancouver Games. She also took a bronze medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, her last Olympics to date. Vonn last competed in February 2019 after a series of injuries incurred throughout her career caught up to her. In April of this year, Vonn underwent a partial knee replacement.
