Banned Jamaat-e-Islami members back independents in J&K rally

Hundreds attended a joint election rally in Kulgam, South Kashmir, supporting four independents backed by Jamaat-e-Islami. The rally aimed to end traditional parties' exploitative politics. Jamaat-e-Islami seeks to lift its ban by participating in elections after 35 years. The four seats will go to polls on September 18.
