OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Officials with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture (ODAFF) confirmed on Tuesday, the first case of Asian longhorned ticks in Oklahoma. The tick was detected in Mayes County, according to ODAFF.
In large numbers the Asian longhorned tick may cause severe anemia to the animals it infests, and carry both human and animal diseases, ODAFF says.
