PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Summer heat will build around Portland as the month of August begins hot and dry.
The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting a warm and sunny start to the month of August in the Pacific Northwest. That comes as high pressure builds over the west, sending Portland area temperatures into the mid to upper 90s for the first day of the month.
Summer heat will keep temperatures high and above average around Oregon and Washington Thursday.
