WASHINGTON — The heat was on for the U.S. women’s soccer team’s final exhibition tune-up game before the Paris Olympics, with sweltering temperatures in the air and plenty of chances to score.
The goals did not come in a 0-0 draw against Costa Rica on Tuesday night, just the second time – and the first since 2015 – the U.S. did not win its last game before a major tournament. But the match showed the Americans could handle the kind of high temperatures that could await later this month.
