Senegal officially register CAS appeal following AFCON title stripping

March 26 – Senegal have appealed to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) to reclaim their Africa Cup of Nations title after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stripped the team of the trophy. 

Last week, CAF, in an unprecedented move, stripped Senegal from the African crown and awarded the title to finalists Morocco, who staged the 2025 tournament. The Senegalese have now registered an appeal with CAS to overturn CAF’s decision.
