Council approves new 60,000-seater Roma stadium plans: ‘An historic day’
The council in Rome has voted in favour of approving the plans submitted by AS Roma for a new 60,000-seater stadium, reports on Thursday confirm: “Today is an historic day, not just for the fans, but for all Romans,” said the mayor.

Roma are one of several Serie A sides hoping to build a new stadium with the aim of hosting matches at EURO 2032. Milan and Inter are also progressing with their plans for a new ground to replace the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in San Siro.
