EPL and EFL to support Muslim athletes with Ramadan breaks during matches
February 17 – The English Premier League and Football League will once again implement Ramadan matchday procedures this season, which allow brief pauses in play to give Muslim players and officials time to break their fast.
Ramadan begins this week and runs for a month, during which Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn until sunset.
As in previous years, any stoppage will be handled with consultation from all match participants.
