SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco 49ers defensive end Keion White was shot in the ankle early Monday in San Francisco, though the injury is not believed to be serious.

The 49ers said in a statement that White “was a victim of a shooting” and is undergoing surgery at a local hospital. The team said it would provide further updates when appropriate.
