Serie A gets support in digital piracy battle but Cloudfare threatens Italian pull-out
January 12 – Italy’s long-running fight against sports piracy has escalated after the country fined Cloudflare €14.2 million for refusing to block access to pirate streaming sites via its 1.1.1.1 DNS service. The penalty, issued by communications regulator AGCOM under the Piracy Shield law, gives significant support to Serie A and its clubs, whose broadcast rights are at the heart of the legislation.
