Turkish betting scandal deepens with further referrals

January 8 – The Turkish Football Federation has referred 212 officials to disciplinary board over illegal betting after announcing a massive investigation into illegal betting activities.

On January 7, 2026, the federation officially referred 108 technical staff members and 104 football agents to the Professional Football Discipline Committee (PFDK).

The investigation focuses on individuals who served in professional leagues over the last five years and were found to have placed bets during their active tenure.
