NCS baseball, softball roundup: De La Salle crushes Pittsburg in first-round matchup

The De La Salle baseball team bounced back on Tuesday after losing to Granada last week in the East Bay Athletic League tournament championship game.

The Spartans, the second seed in the North Coast Section Division I playoffs, routed No. 15 seed Pittsburg 12-5 to advance to the quarterfinals on Friday at home against No. 7 Petaluma.

De La Salle (23-4) jumped out to an 8-0 lead through two innings and didn’t look back. Oklahoma commit Alec Blair went 2 for 2 and knocked in four runs.
