Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Shyanne Smith, Liberty flag football

Liberty flag football player Shyanne Smith is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Oct. 28 to Nov. 2.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Smith finished with 38.15% of the votes. Menlo School flag football player Ellie Knoll took second at 37.97%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

The quarterback threw five touchdown passes in a victory over BVAL rival Freedom. The Lions finished the week with a 17-1 record on the season.
