BBC boosts Premier League output with audio commentary rights win

November 8 – BBC Radio 5 Live continues to be the gold standard when it comes to match commentary and to the delight of thousands of listeners, the platform has retained the Premier League audio commentary rights until the 2028/29 season in a new four-year deal.

The Beeb as it is affectionally known, has secured four of the six audio packages available, meaning that from next year, its 5 Live radio channel will be bringing audiences together to enjoy live commentary of 209 matches per season.
