Rams coach Sean McVay tempted fate when he described his team as “relatively healthy” to 49ers reporters on Wednesday.
At the time, it sounded as if McVay was being sympathetic to the 49ers’ limited stock of players, and that’s even after the Rams lost their left tackle Andrew Whitworth and leading tackler Micah Kiser in successive games.
Then came two positive COVID-19 tests within the Rams (7-3) that prompted them to cancel Friday’s final practice before Sunday’s scheduled visit by the 49ers (4-6).
